I am at the moment putting together a Trainwreck Express amplifier. I have in the drawer a Ted Weber 022798int transformer, 40w. I was wondering if I could use this? Toneslut specifics for a TW transformer is:
Primary: 240V
HV Taps: 300 - 260 - 0 - 260 - 300 (300mA)
Heater Tap: 6.3V (7.5A)
Rectifier Tap: 5V (3A)
The weber specifics on the pic.
Might not be a purist choice, but would it work?

I'm an Ampgarage nut and I would use that PT.
My favorite is to build Trainwreck Express 1-12" combo amps using the 18w Marshall style channel chassis using Mojotone Heyboer laydown JTM45 low voltage PT 300-0-300 and 6k open frame 40-18088 Classictone OT and change the Presence to treble cut instead.

Just want to make sure you're seeing this correctly..
The specs he listed are different than the specs he has which are in the pic.
He has 330-0-330 or 360-0-360, based on the pic

Yes I saw that and nothing wrong with increasing plate voltage and getting some head room. The Express is dirty right away with that low plate voltage.

But Mark, then you cannot go and buy a DYMO label maker and give it chic's name. I have built a few and never used Sprague Filter Caps. No perf boards, made all of them from Beige Fiberglass. I even built one using different caps throughout, but correct values. I have never used silicone to hold down caps. Hate it. I strap them with metal I form around the cap.
I willl even use my preferred cap cans.
When I get done, I turn it up, find the 2 or 3 problems.
It is not a True Trainwreck, but unless Ken Fisher built it, it never will be anyway.

Ed,
Exactly, build it your way and that is what I do as well.
I made one traditional clone then the rest were all my own versions and I don't think I used the same caps twice!
Just have fun guys that's the most important.
