Title: HELP with scratchy GAIN pot on new build (new components)
Post by: Jonas on August 24, 2019, 07:17:00 pm
Hi Everyone,

I have a new build underway and I'm almost there, but I have an issue. The amp is similar to a Trainwreck, with a GAIN pot inserted between V1b and V2a.

At the moment, I get a "scratchy windy" noise when the GAIN pot is turned.  All component are new.
 Pots are PEC conductive plastic.

Any advice?

Thanks!!!

Jonas

Don't turn the pot.  :icon_biggrin:

Or you could provide some more detailed info.

I've had a bunch of Silver Mica caps (new) cause volume and tone stack noise so replaced with Sozo treble caps.
