Title: Newbie from Canberra, Australia.
Post by: glass54 on September 02, 2019, 03:00:01 am
Greeting from Downunder.
Actually I confess I have been a long time lurker and actually joined in early 2016 but never posted.
I live in Australia and have a background in Sound Reinforcement design, install and Calibration. This includes ElectroAcostic Calibration of systems and testing of components and raw Drivers. I am experienced with MLSSA and Audio Precision test equipment.
But my special interest has always been Valve (Tube) Amplifiers. I have repaired many and fully rebuilt a few chassis to original circuitry. I also have built a few preamps on superb quality PCBs, for use on Bass Guitars and Double Basses.
Currently I assist younger men (Muso's) to take on projects, based on on Doug's turret boards, to encourage them to experience "proper" amplifiers and get the joy of personal achievement.
I have a supportive wife who insisted I had a proper lab for my hobby and I also ride bicycles and enjoy a little trout fishing. My excuse for not posting is, I get busy riding my bicycle (poor excuse) or I'm researching test equipment for a new purchase.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the mountains of info offered by Sluckey, HBP, Tubenit and many others.
Kind regards
Mirek
