Hello again amigos! This is an observation/whining with a request for assistance. I had heard for yrs the announcement by bench techs and builders that Fender was producing a line (Hot Rod this-n-that) and the animal that gives me grief the Blues Jr., that were difficult to remove the PCB and the boards were too fragile and CHEAP. I bought a 2003 (cream board) intending to fix it up and re-sell. I spent apprx 6 hrs checking solder joints and replacing the input jack. I studied the 'upgrade' tone cap changes and replaced the main filter caps. I replaced 3 caps in the tone circuit with vintage caps I harvested from old equip. The amp sounded fantastic for 20 mins and then the crackle monster showed up. I pulled the board out again to find out that the solder pads for the tone caps had vanished into air, no longer there or accepting solder. So very disappointed in Fender and their selling an inferior product. I have ordered Doug's Blues Jr replacement turret board and looking forward to throwing this so-called Printed Circuit Board away.
If anyone has the link to the schematic and layout for Doug's Blues Jr Board, please load it up so I can get parts sourced. Thanks, Jack D
