Title: Identifying spk polarity
Post by: dude on September 21, 2019, 12:20:54 pm
Some speakers don’t have polarity marked, using just one spk, l believe it makes no difference but more than one it does. How  does one identify unmarked, +|- .

Gator clip leads and a battery. May need a 9v battery for big speakers. Briefly connect the battery to the speaker. Touch, off, touch, off. If the cone moves out, mark the speaker terminal that has the positive battery lead attached as the positive terminal. Repeat for other speakers.
