Title: Newbie from Asheville, NC
Post by: Nicklsm on September 25, 2019, 02:11:57 pm
Hey, all!

I am Nick, and I have too many hobbies!  I have built electric guitars, RC planes, helicopters, quadcopters and RC cars.  Rebuilt full size Focus ST from a totaled mess, am fixing up a '80 Benz 450SL.  I am in  a working 4 piece band as the lead guitar player.  I have worked for nearly 20 years as a Weigh Scale tech, so I have to use soldering and multimeter skills daily.  All while raising two kids through their teenage years!

I joined this forum because I am interested in building a guitar amp out of a Wurlitzer 7020 amp from an organ.  I already have a Marshall DSL40 and a Crate V3112, both of which I am very happy with; I just want to have the "DIY buzz" I seem to be addicted to!  I hope to learn, find help, and be a help.

I am starting with rusty schematic reading skills, and no prior experience with amp building.

Welcome Asheville geetar picker!  If you can put windshiled wipers on a Jackrabbit's ass, you can build an amp.  Keep Asheville weird!

Shoot me a PM where you next local Asheville Gig on a Saturday is and I will bring a busload of drunk strippers.  I have been playing the area from Asheville to Andrews for a bit now.

Have fun and remember this
