Hey guys,
Been working on a big building renovation. Time to gear up for a couple of amp projects.
I have been playing most of my amps quite a bit, especially the HoSo 56.
Is there a schematic for the EL84 version, I thought I had seen one but can't locate it.
Thanks

You can look at these. Check for errors! Make sure the schematic and layout match. The original one DaGeezer did has a crossline master volume. You do NOT want a crossline, use a PPIMV instead.

IF you want to build one with simple paralleled turret style layout OR one with active FX on board look at reply #35 on '

Thank you Jeff. I'm thinking of changing tubes just to try it.

Not sure if you're wanting to try the 6BM8's or the FX aspect of this?
Here is an idea for you. This FX approach is from the HoSo56 Minimalist I did. Using the cathode follower tone stack as the FX send has worked well for me on several amps now. And by using the mosfet for the CF, you can save yourself an entire dual triode and still have active FX loop.
CHECK for ERRORS! Compare schematic with layout, if there is a difference go with the schematic.

** I drew up an SCH version of what I was referring to.

Thanks Jeff,
I have the amp built with 6BM8's and I am think of changing to EL 84's. That should be pretty simple.
I dig the amp, just tinkering.

Got room for another tube socket?

I have room, what do you have in mind?

Nothing more than what I asked.

Good, I need to get started with something easy where I can’t fry a transformer.
