Title: I made an EIA Code compilation!
Post by: JayCobie on January 05, 2020, 09:20:20 am
For anyone researching old electronics and their manufacturers, the EIA code that is printed on components can shed a lot of light on the history of electronic components.
I grew tired of trying to cross-reference different EIA code lists available online to find the correct company for a given year, so I carefully transcribed every available EIA code list I could find into a massive spreadsheet, to make EIA code searches a breeze.

Hopefully someone can find this useful:

UPDATED 26.01.19 - Version 3:
This is a compilation of 21 different EIA Code lists from '46, '49 through '63, '65, '81, '89, '94, '95 and 2001
Links to originals of every code list can be found in the google sheet.

If anyone has EIA code lists that I'm missing, please send them to j@reverb.is and I'll transcribe and add it to the list (note the .is domain; not .com)

Having turned over quite a few rocks on the internet to find more lists, I've managed to get the following EIA code lists that I was missing:
'49, '50, '52, '55, '58, '60, '65 and '89.

So now I have a complete run from '49 to '63. These will get transcribed soon enough, and added to my spreadsheet list.
I've also contacted the ECIA (Modern form of EIA) and due to my poking and prodding they will be scanning whatever lists they have in their library in the coming weeks. I believe that they have atleast lists from '96, '97, '98 and '99.

This is coming closer to a more complete history every day, but I'm still missing lists from the 70's, and a lot of lists from the 60's and 80's.
If anyone has access to Sam's photofact folders and can dig through them for lists I'm missing, I'd appreciate it a lot!

Version 2 of the code list is now available through the same link as above, but I'll repeat it here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1P1jeVIQ9UdwlhXTDLQEDxYuShjFQZO_4tUchw5_8N9o/edit?usp=sharing

I've refined most of the repeated company name entries, though some still remain rough.
Added ´49, ´50, ´52 and ´55 to the list.
