Hi Everyone,
Have just registered so I can learn more with some questions for a pair of sidelined amps I have used at times.
I have been reading and learning here for some years now and applying what I can divin and glean to get them running. Mostly succesful and only smoked 2 PT and 1 ot, so it goes, pay to play...at least they were older and cheapish.
I live in california sierra belt and ride bikes here, try to get onto lakes in wood boats, and make guitars to keep me involved in my life long occupation with investigating how our human-made stuff is achieved. I grew up in socal around boats and cars typical of the era, and my first big memory of 'making stuff' was on Terminal Island where my dad was building one of his boat hobby projects - the smell of sapelle in the machine shed - it was so powerful a smell I never forgot and years later it came apparent what wood it was.
I also returned to Moto riding in 2013 after a long hiatus, finding a runner bmw r90/6 locally and converted in to a 50/50 scrambler for the local rock/dirt/pavement here. Have ridden 13k miles all within 70 mi radius, no long trips, just errands and many small 1-2 hour happy tours like bike rides and paddling to get relaxation and joy.
And finally the avatar is a great man in Chicago I only spoke to once on the phone, Ralph Freise, who founded the Chicagoland canoe base and was a lifelong canoe/canoeing junky, and 100% devotee to craftsmanship. This pic to me epitomizes who he is/was and touches well my own approach and interests in this life. And thanks too to all the electronics masters here so willing to share their crafstmanship-ing knowledge! S. Luckey, PRR, etc etc etc
Be well everyone :icon_biggrin: Happy Trails!...John R.
