Title: Matchless Chieftain Reverb layout check
Post by: Tonewolfamps on April 21, 2020, 03:38:02 pm
I made this from a schematic for a guy who wants to build a "clone" of a Matchless Chieftain Reverb and use a board. A real Matchless is entirely point to point, uses 1 watt carbon comp resistors and heavy duty power resistors on the supply and power tubes. Those parts are difficult to source so it isn't a true clone.  Thought I share my layout to check my work and also get some feedback.
Here's the full size layout:

Here's the schematic I used:

If you want help, it would be very helpful to post a schematic for your build.

Too hard to figure out what's right/wrong possibly from a layout drawing.
My mistake.

IMO, OP wish we check if his layout is a copy from the schematic.
Yes schematic is on the post.

I found the original schematic very difficult to read.    I've tried to redraw it in a manner that is easier for me to follow.

Assume there may be errors and compare to the original schematic.

With respect, Tubenit

Nice Tubenit. Point B in the power supply needs C2.

* Corrected above.  Good catch! Thanks
