- yet another SE. ho-hum... :icon_biggrin:
rebuilt the power supply and power stage on the 6Y6GT practice amp posted a while back... likely will build this.
6L6GC is cooking at ~29W. spare V1 triode may become a tremolo osc.
nice overdrive tone. allen amps TO11S SE OT sounds really good, however, IMO it's a bit shy on the bottom end. understandable looking at the size for a SE OT with a 10W rating.

I've got something similar cooking here except with EL34
Used a Classictone 40-18031 on the 8K tap.
Plenty of tight low end like I wanted.
I'm really loving the SE tone!
Thanks for your work.

You could try tacking 25uF Ck into the input stage (for more bandwidth in the signal at the start, which you could then filter in the subsequent stages?)

now that's inductance abuse!!!

have you AB/y'd one with a comparable PP? my gator-clip cable cobble was good enough to work on getting a real set-up and bother the neighbors :icon_biggrin:

If you are really into SE amps take a look at this one. This schematic shows a KT88 power tube but you can use any that you like. I built a version of it and tried EL84, 6V6, 6L6, EL34 and the KT88. Ended up with the 6V6. It was close between the 6L6 and the 6V6 as to which tube we liked best. There is a mod that lets you take one of the gain stages out with a switch. Good sounding amp.

No, I haven't done that. It's way more fun to just say SE is better so everyone playing PP will wonder if they are missing something. :icon_biggrin:
