Title: Thoughts on vero/strip boards for preamp
Post by: Johntb on May 16, 2020, 09:01:20 pm
Anybody use a vero board on a pre amp?
What kind of issues were there?

I am just thinking it would be a smaller footprint. Just not sure if there would be noise issues.

Thoughts?

Or

Experiences?

Most veroboards don’t have enough space between traces to prevent arcing on B+ and most components rated more than 1/2W have leads won’t fit.

I built fews amps with vero board.
I do all myself with turret post or eyelet on vero board.

Here a Elk Pro Sonic amp chassis. I built a Fender AB763 Deluxe Reverb circuit for a professional guitar player. Amp sound great with their original EL84 output tubes and originals transformers.
