Title: Help converting Peavey nano valve PCB to point to point turret board
Post by: fixall on May 24, 2020, 05:33:16 am
Hi All,
This is my fist post here in the forum apologies if I this is in the wrong section.
I got an old 5w class A peavey nanovalve which I have modified years ago adding a gain, tone pot and an attenuator switch. Often I get problems with the small low quality PCB making it a big hassle to work on it to try to fix it. The PCB got a lot of broken tracks and I was think to convert this to a point to point turret board. It is a very small and simple schematics but I am not confident at all to do the design conversion as I never done this before. I am wondering if anyone has done this model into a turret board or any advise how to make this safe and simple for a beginner? many thanks in advance and have a great weekend ;)

I doubt youll find someone whos done something extremely specific as convert that amp into a PTP. It's certainly been done on other amps. This is such a basic amp that you could probably lay it out simply. Having just done my first true from scratch layout (as opposed to slightly modifiying known circuits) Group things by tube attachment. Lay it out in DIYLC using the tutorials on the forum.

Good luck and welcome to the forum!

The Peavy circuit looks like an EL84 iteration of a Fender 5F1 Champ. Our host sells turret boards and has a board for a 5F1 that would work well for your project.
