Title: Rubber grommets for tube socket holes?
Post by: Captain chunkulus on June 15, 2020, 12:56:07 pm
Anu of you guys ever used these or know where to Source the material for them? They look just like their regular grommets. However, I couldn't find these anywhere. Went to several hardware stores nobody has these.

I like the soft silicone o-rings. I use one for each mounting screw on the top-side between the tube socket and the chassis with a second o-ring between the mounting screw nut and the chassis on the underneath side.

haven't used it in your application, I get it from Napa, used as car trim, I like metal "grippy" fingers "inside the channel" of rubber

My bad, you said grommets, I showed you o-rings. McMaster has the soft silicone grommets as well.

I like the silicone because it is softer than rubber and is good up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Do not exceed this limit as all hell breaks loose at Fahrenheit 451. :l2:

The o-rings in the right diameter are good tube dampeners.
