Title: Tube-30 or Lite-30 Tweed Anyone Heard of them
Post by: daveneary on June 27, 2020, 04:08:48 pm
I am in the middle of building an 5F4 Tweed Super amp. I have constructed the cab, built and populated the circuit board. Just trying to figure out how to fit it into the Tweed Bassman Chassis and add a Middle control  to the circuit.

I just picked up a Chinese made tweed amp for very little money which has very similar proportions 2x6L6 and 2 x 12AX7 called a Rocktronic Tube-30. The PCB looks reasonably well built with reasonable components and layout is simple. The cab is finger jointed ply and covered in a tweed like material. The lead dress is basic but the amp is quiet - free from buzz and hum. The transformers looks lightweight but the whole thing sound better than I would have expected.  Does anyone have any experience of them, what they are based on and know where I can get a schematic.

I have spare transformer set from a AC15-C1 - I wonder whether to try to swap the transformers and speakers - I wonder how it will compare to the one I am building.

Any thoughts welcome.

Not sure it would buy me much beer.
