Title: Another broken pickgard project
Post by: Latole on July 04, 2020, 04:13:42 am
The finished project on the Silvertone *encouraged me to repair an old Dana guitar from the 60s.
I found this guitar in the street, 15 years ago (?) Where cars were probably passed over. There are very visible marks.
As I had the expertise and the tools already released for the Silvertone, I now tackle this guitar.

More pictures later

Great project.  The output jack  in the pickguard is a design flaw waiting to break.  I would consider either moving the jack  to the guitar body,  or reinforcing the pickguard underneath with a large metal or plastic plate to spread out the stress.

I'll do about the same as my post on Sivertone guitar . Piece of junk metal for this one.
It is a very cheap guitar. I' m afraid to ear the sound..........
 It is done now.

Metal jack plate, new budget bridge ( original bridge was missing )new 250k pots ( old one are reading 400k an broken) and new knobs.

Guitar finished, sound is poor but it was a fun projet at almost "no" cost, I have all the parts in stock.
