6L6 tubes
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Question: In the RCA Receiving tube Manual RC-21 it states that a 6L6, 6L6G, 6L6GB, and 6L6GC all have a max plate dissipation of 30 watts. Is this just for the old stock tubes of the 60`s and does it hold true for the newly manufactured tubes of today?

Look again in the RC-21, only 6L6GC has 30w dissipation.

Tiny, in that case the 6L6, 6L6G, 6L6GB only have Design Center values listed ? and the 6L6GC has the Design Maximum listed? What is the difference between Design Center values and Design maximum values? What would be the max plate disp for the 6L6GB?

Look on page 65 of your RC-21 for definitions of design center and design max. The older 6L6/G/GB and M (metal shell) are rated with the older design center system.
As for current production tubes, Svetlana publishes specs for thiers but I have never seen a Sovtek or Chinese data sheet.

TD's right. The 6L6, 6L6G, 6L6GA, indeed, all the ST-envelope 6L6s have a plate dissipation of 19 Watts. Great tubes, by the way, and should be in all tweed Fenders that use 6L6 tubes. A phenomenal bargain, too.
Anyone else habitually type "^l^" when trying to type 6L6? :)

No, but I often type %AR$ instead of 5AR4. And at work I always type "realy" when I mean "relay"
