Title: Four Prong Pot Question
Post by: dbell7 on July 15, 2020, 11:24:40 am
Hi, I recently bought a used Fender Sidekick 65 Bass that was made in japan, and the four-prong master pot is broken. I came across Hoffman's 350KA pot with tap point, and was wondering if this would be a good replacement to the A10K knob that was there before, since they both have four prongs.

You need to give the guys more info
Post a schematic link so they can see what your map has

That's just the thing, I can't find any information on the amp anywhere.

trace the 4 wires, make a sketch and post
10k is typically NOT a good swap for 350K even if they are both 4 legged

Short answer... NO.

Here's the schematic. You can use a 10K-A without the tap.

Some Fender 10 K here, not with 4 lugs.

Could be useful if you want to use same knob?

Few more informations on Sidekick amps:

Do you suggest I forget about the four prongs, and just stick with a three prong as long as it matches the numbers?
