So who has favorite pedal plateform amp. Im looking for a new build. I just did a hoso 56 and a couple others the best clean I have is an ab763 fender circuit, lite normal channel only. with 2 6l6 power tubes.
All my different marshall styles I've built are a little 2 high gain. Been so long since I built a jtm45 that I cant remember how good the cleans were.
Thanks Bill

I have a JTM45 clone. It's cleans are really very nice. When I run it together with my single channel Deluxe reverb clone... heaven.

Probably the best live clean tone I've heard was in Nashville with a great guitarist playing a Deluxe non-reverb blackface amp.

AB763 amps seem to be a favorite of pedal boards for some players.
So here is something you could consider:
- Just the 2 gain stages (using a 12AY7) prior to LTPI
- LTPI using a 12AT7
- reduce the cathode caps from 22uf to 5uf
- add LNFB (local negative feedback) like on some Dumble amps
You could use an Emminence Delta Pro 12A speaker and heavy transformers like for a Twin Reverb.

I've been watching some pedal videos recently and the guy at JHS pedals always sounds great and uses this amp.
It would seem to me that this amp is a lot like what tubenit has suggested.

I'm pretty sure we could nail this down in less than 3 moves, and T may have already done it.

yes maybe throw some big bottles at it for fun . Ive had a few pairs of kt88 sitting around forever.

That feeling when you look at the pricetag on that JHS/Milkman combo and realize how little is in there to make that happen lol.
Id say trick out the AB763 like tubenit suggests. Taylor Goldsmith also uses a non-reverb blackface deluxe and they sound fantastic live.
JTM45/Bassman is pretty clean until you jumper inputs together and make it rip. It's a little different than the 763 stuff but my buddy really likes the one I built for him.
