Title: Unusual heater elevation question

Hi All.  I built an elevated heater voltage circuit into an amp and then ordered a power transformer without a center-tap on the 6.3v winding.  Can I create an artificial center-tap with resistors and still use the circuit or should I bag it and use the filaments as designed?  Other possibilities include using DC for the preamp tubes.  Thanks, Skip
