I've been doing a lot of soldering over the last few years and I've noticed that I'm really not losing that much hair.
So, it is obviously a fact that solder fumes prevent hair loss.
Just puttin it out there for any of you who happen to be follicularly challenged. (yes, it's a word, look it up)
Build more tube amps and you could look this good.

I see; so it was the solder fumes that turned Mel into a raving lunatic.

You must be be very very careful not to over-solder
this could happen :icon_biggrin: :icon_biggrin:

That's sad. You probably need to try the high gain solder that I'm using.

I didn't say it grew hair. That would be ridiculous.
-
I don't believe the solder fumes have affected me at all.

Wow TIMBO, you're waaaayyyy better looking than I thought...
Funny thing is, I picture you more like this:
-
coming outta the closet for this one,
(delete buzzkill, my cornflake got pee'd in :)
I'm blaming it on the solder though :icon_biggrin:

don't worry....we're LGBTQA friendly 'round here :m3
You got a nice Unabomber thing going on there.
With that beard, if you can hold out til Christmas you might be able to cash in down at the mall. Might be fun to wait til the kid gets on your lap and then cough on them.

that's why everyone stays 12' away.
there are ALOT of soldering folk here though, with the same dilemma, leave it or Synge it :icon_biggrin:

So shooter, have I got news for you ?!....
I've been working on one of these little SE candy machines and it turns out that if you just braid the OT wires like this, you'll get 2-3 more watts out of a single EL34.
I read somewhere on The Gear Page where another guy tried it and claimed he got 47 watts, but then his amp caught fire and he couldn't prove it. :dontknow:

Extrapolating from this fact, could even more solder fumes actually reverse hair loss?
( Asking for a friend . . . )

maybe check your solder Iron, It might have crack in it :icon_biggrin:

Damnit, you two....
I was so happy to watch this thread drop down the list cause I didn't want too many people who didn't get the joke to think I was actually this much of an ass.
I should have known.
I saw DL read it right after I posted it and when he just quietly backed away and didn't like or comment I knew I was in trouble. I think sluckey is slacking. This should have been moved already. If he wasn't busy conducting witch hunts he might be more focused on his job. He's definitely overpaid.
On another note, I just put numbered Fender knobs on my amp and now it's not as loud as it was. It doesn't sound like it goes to eleven anymore.
What is up with that?
-
:nice1:
the fender numbers are spaced .1414 on center, while Marshall is .2 :icon_biggrin:
-
AND........ There's more letters in "MARSHALL"
-
Well, now that I know that there are at least 2 scientifc reasons, Ill cancal my parts order.
Im sooooo glad I wont have to change out the pots for some of those higher gain ones I had read about.
-
back to your thread.....
I give you solder fumes helps with hair loss, I'm not sure on brain cells yet, still experimenting :think1:

I like to scavenge old amps and salvage parts to build my stuff and I've noticed that old solder definitely smells different than the fresh stuff.
