Title: rectifier diodes in AA270 twin
Post by: mresistor on August 29, 2020, 04:02:59 pm
Are two 1N4007 diodes in series good enough to replace each leg of the PT secondary HV AC in the amps rectifier?   Thanks

for 4 x 6L6 use a quad of 1N5408s. 2 in series for each primary phase (leg).

I tried that as an upgrade once; note that the leads of 3A diodes can be much thicker than those of 1A types, so getting 2 into an eyelet can be a struggle.
