Title: "better TMB Tone Stack" post elsewhere
Post by: PRR on September 02, 2020, 10:00:03 pm
A Better TMB Tone Stack (https://www.diyaudio.com/forums/instruments-and-amps/359601-tmb-tone-stack.html) at DIY Audio forum.

At a glance: the plan looks rational. I don't know how it works on the musical ear. But it is about a dollar's worth of parts over what Leo used so it is a cheap and reversible experiment.

IF appropriate, could the schematic be posted here?  You have to be a member on that other site to view the document.

With respect, Tubenit

I've never really been a fan of the TMB tone stack in general, but this does make it look a bit more interesting.

Oooops! I knew the *section* was Public but did not realize the *Attaches* were limited (of course they are).

Tubeswell got the schematic. There are six plots showing the wide variety of possible curves. The extremes are often too brutal to use, but gentle use of a sharp knife may be useful. On the plots, the dotty lines are Phase; we do NOT care here, but the plotter option to not plot phase is well hidden in that software.

Interesting twist on the typical tone stack.

Those guys that play metal and love an extreme mid dip. This looks like the tone stack for them. Those middle graphs. Have a huge midrange dip.
