Title: will adding shunted output speaker jack protect the amp
Post by: scstill on September 25, 2020, 08:01:54 pm
It is risky to run an tube amp without a speaker load.

I have read that shorting the output using a jack that shunts the tip to ground when it does not have a speaker connected will protect the amp.

While I do not plan to run the amp without a speaker, I wanted to get your feedback on this apparent protection.

Fender has been doing that for 60 years.
