Title: Vox ac15 sanecore output transformer wiring?
Post by: jammied on November 06, 2020, 09:24:40 pm
Ok I dug through my parts bin from years ago and found a sanecore output transformer. I believe it was from a ac15 maybe ac10?

But cant seem to find a wiring diagram for it? Thought about using it in a 5e3 type of build.

So years ago I taped the red, white and yellow wires together so I'm assuming these were the primaries and center tap?

And the left over wires are black, orange and blue. Now I'm assuming black is speaker ground, orange is 16ohm and blue is 8ohm?

I did some internet searches but couldn't find any color coded hookup diagrams or info.

so I'm assuming

try ohming the wires, that eliminates some assuming  Note: the secondary's will be few ohms

Yeppers done it

Red to yellow= 135ohms
Red to white = 133ohms
Yellow to white = 267ohms

Black to blue= .7ohms
Black to orange =.6ohms
Orange to blue=.2ohms

Primary looks correct

But still not sure of what tap would be 16ohm on the secondary. I really thought the orange wire is 16ohm and blue is 8ohm.

Guess I can get a known transformer and compare

Put a voltage into the primary. Measure the voltages on the secondaries. The larger voltage will also be the larger impedance.
