Title: Your favorite 9-pin socket for EL84's, EF86's, and EZ81's
Post by: dwinstonwood on December 01, 2020, 05:29:13 pm
Of the various 9-pin socket's in Hoffman's store, which do you recommend for the tubes listed in my subject?

Can the flanges/bases be removed from all of the ones he sells, since that seems to be necessary?

Thanks! (more to come)

Sorry, I figured it out.
I need to remove the metal bases from the sockets and use the EL84 spring/clamps to attach the socket to the chassis.
The info is in the Hoffman store... I just didn't know if the metal bases could be easily removed without damaging the socket. It looks like the metal bases are simply crimped on, and can be pried off.
