Wow. Maine amps? That site is a serious rabbit hole.

Cool site. Bruce amps. I think Michael Allsup used those. I still love that solo in Never Been to Spain.

Hours of reading there. Just perused an exhaustive explanation of the Dead's tower/wall monster system. And there's an article on the sound system for a Barry Manilow tour as well!

Why is there so little information to be found on Guild amps? I found a schematic on this site but little else online, I picked up a thunder I Reverb and this looks like a well made Actual P2P amp ....but their is little to be found about it . They can't be that rare can they? I have not re-capped it yet, but I am Intrigued by the separate amp and speaker dedicated to the reverb. It appears that PO took a cap/resistor off the main replaced speaker and ran an extension speaker input other than that it is pretty much unmolested and all original

I buy a not working Thunder I Reverb, 15 years ago for $50..
I work on only few hours.
I did not work on it since 12 years. A real mess this amp, a piece of sh**t.
Some Guild schematic here;

Guild - I think the amp history is confusing and the company focused 99% on guitars. I have a few 50s-60s Guild guitars and the craftsmanship is terrific. I have two Guild amps - a 66J which is a 2x6V6 amp with tremolo. It's pretty well made and sounds good. The other is a bass head that is waiting a turn on the bench. It seems cheaply built, and I will probably never get to it. It seems that Guild both built amps in-house and relabeled amps from Multivox and maybe Sonolo, and many say they bought assemblies from Ampeg. No consistency is likely the reason the available info is so sketchy. Best info I've found is here: https://letstalkguild.com/ltg/index.php?threads/so-who-actually-made-the-amps-for-guild.143112/ (https://letstalkguild.com/ltg/index.php?threads/so-who-actually-made-the-amps-for-guild.143112/)

This one dates to late 64 and the build quality looks good components look good to great . Top end tubes german ,holland and maybe RCA 121x7a no country of origin . All branded Guild. From what I have found online (Thanks bmccowan ) It was very likely built in house and certainly seems to have a unique design. I'll recap it and hope that it is not a piece of Sh**t. I found a video of a 1967 it not a great demo but it is kind of a mind melt of sorts .....I do think there is some potential in this amp.Guild Thunder 1 Reverb and Circus Top - YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M63YhsYbMtM)

The Premier Guitar article kind of nails it. If theyre trying to cash in by building known designs from extra parts im sure they'd be all over the place. The guild electric guitars are the same way from that era. hit or miss.

Mine is like this one ;

Mine is like this one ;
Latole. That is the one I have also, It sounds like you still have it, if so does it have a cap and resistor on the 12" speaker wire going to the chassis from the speaker? Why do you think it's a piece of crap? Is it the one you have or that model in General? I see that the filament's are single wire that can be changed if it is a problem. Reverb & Tremolo are pretty lush.

That cap/resistor is the input to the reverb tank.

All parts goes everywhere, it is a rat nest . I never see another Guild amp than mine, I don't know for others.
I work on few hundreds amps, I could see so many better made.
I think I will strip it all and build another circuit like a Fender Deluxe Reverb to mount inside.
