Title: R & R Hoochie Koo cover
Post by: Colas LeGrippa on December 24, 2020, 01:41:33 pm
Uff,,,,this song is definitely too high for my voice. I love the guitar riffs from J.W. and R.D. in the recording where they play both

Well done!  THANKS for sharing!  I saw those two perform that song in Dallas, Tx.  Quite a show!  Johnny wore a cape, & had tall platform shoes.  He was quite the entertainer.

I saw him in Montreal without a tee shirt with his tattoos all over his chest , back and arms
I had tried once to go backstage for an autograph but one of his bouncers threw me out of the place....

1st time I saw Johnny and Edgar together was 1970 in Ft.Worth, Tx.   Edgar was playing drums (of all things) for Johnny.  It was at an arena called "Cowtown Jamboree".  Edgar looked like he was in high school.  Crazy!  Johnny had one or two women who were billed as psychedelic dancers up on either end of the stage. He had the typical "lava lamp" psychedelic type movie screen going on behind him.

OMG pure psychedelic era !
BTW you remind me something : back in 1970 I had a girlfriend , an Italian with beautiful curves who was dancing on a t.v. show every saturday night here in Montreal, where american and local artists were performing. Of course when the show was over I had the chance to meet them all. That era has been so rich in musical creation,
Edgar playin drums ? Wow, I guess he could play the guitar too...

Great song!
I like it when Rick Derringer asks "Did someone say keep on rockin'?" and blasts into his short but sweet solo....

I saw Johnny Winter in the mid 1980’s at the Fillmore.

To this day, I describe this as the single most impressive guitar performance I ever witnessed live.
