I was reading this thread, which was posted recently.

Near the bottom DummyLoad, Pete posted a schematic of his design.

This amp looks very interesting. I would like to know if anybody has built this amp and would care to comment,  of course I would love to here from Pete himself.
How does this amp compare to something like  the Gibson GA8 as a reference. Is it mainly an amp that plays clean, dirty or a bit of both.
                              Cheers Ron.

cool sounding amp. the lo input jack has no grid-leak - we are counting on the guitars volume control for that. bad plan but it works. we didn't use the lo input much, if at all. i'd leave it out.

amp has a LOT of gain on tap, so no clean unless you back off the guitar volume substantially. it was built for a punk rock band, so it can and does get wild and out of control quickly. however, when dialed in it has a very sweet sounding compressed distortion.

have not heard or played through a gibson GA8, so sorry, no comparison information there. the lo input does kind of voice like a valco oahu, but with a fuller sound since we are driving 2 x 10" eminence alnicos and have the 6V6 coupled to an output transformer with a wider bandwidth.

whichever path you choose, good luck with your build.
