Title: Lost my bass control
Post by: pbman1953 on February 18, 2021, 10:23:01 am
Recently, in my Sunn 2000s, I installed a 80Mf cap on the C line from the filter section. Now I notice that my Bass Control does nothing. Are they related?

Curious as to why such a large cap in the C node . . .

Looking at the schematic, the two should not be related.

No. But you may have accidentally boogered something while installing that 80µF cap.

The connections seem ok. Would anything else not work right? Besides the bass all works fine

I'm with Sluckey, "the last thing you did",  9outa10 in my career
other less possible;
did you mess with bass that much before cap swap?  You might be noticing because with the new cap you're playing with knobs that haven't been tested in awhile

Before this , it was hit or miss with the bass control. It doesn't do much but it's nice to have if the bass boost is too strong.

I got it back.  I found a ground and a couple connections that were questionable.

Thanks for the quick reply's!!
