Title: Need ideas to make Supro 1624T trem a little stronger
Post by: luthierwnc on March 07, 2021, 11:09:30 am
Howdy,  I just put the chassis in the cab for a 6V6 version of this amp.  It all works great but the trem isn't quite as strong as examples I've heard on YouTube.  Speed is fine.  I've attached the schematic from here and it conforms to several others I've got on the disc.  Voltages are slightly higher with 305VDC on the #1 plate.  Caps are .047, .022 and.033 rather then the 1950's values -- all poly.  Takman 1w carbon film resistors.  Bourns pots.  Tube is new and I've subbed others just to be sure.  Perhaps there is one brand or style that excels?

It's quite usable as-is but if anyone has an idea to give it a little more swamp, I'd love to hear it.  Thanks, Skip

Experiment with the 2.2M resistor. Replace with 1M. If still need more intensity try 470K.

will do -- one of the advantages of a back-mounted amp!

My winter project was going to be a 1688TN but I found a pristine Airline GVC-9010 online.  So, I made the little one.
Thanks for your help lately, Skip
