Title: Tone pots killing volume
Post by: pda041376 on March 29, 2021, 09:56:31 pm
I spent the weekend putting together a kld JCM25 (jcm 800/2204 clone) and finally got all of the kinks worked out. Or so I thought. If I turn all tone knobs to 0 it is as if the the volume knob was set to 0, no matter the actual position. As long as any of the tone controls stays above 0 the volume remains. All knobs appear to work as intended other than that issue. Every thing is wired per the schematic attached.

Any clues on where to start figuring out the cause of this gremlin?

That's just the way it works. Nothing wrong. Let it be.

Now turn your Middle control up.  Volume will likely return.
