Title: Custom Vibrolux rebuild
Post by: jlaj on April 02, 2021, 07:23:16 am
Hey everyone, I recently bought a newer, end of run custom vibrolux reverb (not the ‘68’s) as a project amp. I redid a Deluxe a couple years ago and I was looking at doing something similar with this amp. Has anyone done this but while keeping the stock iron? The solid state rectifier isn’t a deal breaker so that’s kind of my holdup right now as, yeah, I could replace the transformer and add a rectifier tube, but I’m trying to avoid going that route if possible.

If anyone has done this, would they be a .diylc file around?

The CVR is very close to Hoffman's AB763. You could probably use his layout with very few changes. Browse through the DIYLC forum to see if there's a diylc file. Or look here...

Thanks Sluckey.  That’s exactly what I was thinking regarding using one of those existing layouts with some modifications for the solid state rectifier.  I did look there and haven’t found anything yet.
