I've built a few rat rod amps using iron I've had lying around and the results are generally good, but the voltages are not exact. So, the question- how critical are plate voltages and how do variances effect the sound. I've heard there are some general concepts like higher plate voltage is stiffer etc. But is there a sweet spot?
