Title: 5F1 with 6SL7 and 6BM8 reverb
Post by: isaac_teller on May 31, 2021, 10:22:33 am
Hello. I'm building a 5F1 with a 6SL7 instead of a 12AX7. Would I need to up the anode and cathode resistors on the triodes to compensate for the lower gain of the 6SL7? The reverb section will remain unchanged. Several years ago I built it as pictured and it sounded great.
Thank you.

I've had good results with 120K plate and 2.2K cathode...   http://sluckeyamps.com/RCA/Ampeg_J12B.pdf

Also used 270K and 4.7K...   http://sluckeyamps.com/rocky/rocky.pdf
