Title: Wich works better with pedals
Post by: Travis8 on June 04, 2021, 05:02:17 pm
Hi guys!

Wich works better with pedals 5F6A with 1x12 or 2x12 or Plexi 18 watts EL84 with 1x12 or 2x12 speakers.

thanks

Matter of opinion.

Speakers make no difference.

My vote is for the 5F6A.

What do you want to achieve?

A clean pedal platform where you can shape the sound only with pedals? Or an overdriven amp you can push into more overdrive with boosters or overdrives?

Two very different scenarios.

Which ole witch?  Each one is quite different.

5F6A/JTM45 is loud as hell with pedals, but has a beautiful overdrive thanks to the combination of DC-coupled CF and TS driving LTP driving fixed bias big bottles.

18Wer doesn’t take anywhere near as much to make the EL84s clip

I build one 5E3, I like it a lot with one eminence SC-64, but I canīt play it sometimes live becouse is not headroom. (also if I clean with guitar knob It canīt works for me) So I will use it at home and for recording

Maybe 5F6A itīs a good idea for pedals and headroom.

I will use it with 1x12 or 2x12 speaker,
