Title: Canadian jcm800 2203 heater fuses
Post by: phsyconoodler on June 09, 2021, 11:23:23 pm
Canadian issue 2303s have 5amp heater fuses mounted inside with the HT fuses as well. Is there any downside to bypassing these heater fuses? I mean normal 2203s don't have them and they seem to survive just fine.

In my opinion you have the answer, the fuse is not necessary.
Most amps, no matter the manufacturer, do not have a heater fuse. But it is an additional protection.

You can bypass it if you have no issue with tubes heater.

If fue blow and you don't have spair, it is another story.

Bypassing fuses doesn’t cause a problem until it does. In that event, if a fire etc incident occurs, fire investigators will be examining such things closely. It may transpire that there’s criminal  liability to answer.
