Title: Hello from North Carolina
Post by: Jim Nasium on July 08, 2021, 01:52:49 pm
Hello Everyone,

I am new to tube amps. I recently acquired a rather unusual Gretsch 6159 Dual Bass that most of the components date in 1966. It is unusual in that one speaker faces front while the other faces back. I have not found an image of another one like it.

So, I was drawn here to learn about tube amps and learn about how to get mine back to factory specs as a first step, and undo some of the hacking that has already been done to it.  The hope is to pair it up with my recently acquired 1966 Fender Coronado 12 string.

Following that, I am interested in learning how to build up a tube amp head for an extra cabinet I have.

I am in the Charlotte area.

Best Regards,
Brian

Welcome to the Hoffman Amps forum

There are many different boards on this forum for different topics.

The Tube Amp Building - Tweaks - Repairs board is where you can post amp questions.

That board is listed here.

Thanks,
Doug Hoffman

First step is to locate a schematic. It may be in Doug's schematic library...

Then start a new discussion on the board listed in Doug's reply.
