Nice design also
 I came along 20yrs later, the Navy had "evolved" to rack mount boards.  The problem, you had to hang a heavy board on an extender to get to the tuning stuff. By the time I left the field all the boards were digital - autotuned ...while we air guitar'd to loud music!  :icon_biggrin:

Why just the other day I was wondering how I was ever going to be able to service the three sides of my AN/ARC-2 needed to be accessed while on my bench.  Problem solved.  I'm firing off a telex to AMIC right now.

I saw those exact racks when I worked at the depot at Robins AFB in '76. There were also lot's of other ingenious service racks for other avionics equipment.
