Title: Mr Carlson's Lab

I have yet to see anyone mention "Mr Carlson's Lab" on Youtube and Patreon.  I think Paul has an incredible amount of info for us electronics geeks.  IF, you haven't checked him out take a minute and see what you think.

Cheers,
Mike

Well, lottsa info for sure, but how good is it?
Every so often on tech forums, someone cites Uncle Doug’s or Carlson’s piece on isolation transformers, and how they’re an absolute essential for any tech bench

Maybe I’m in a minority of 1 (not for the 1st time :icon_biggrin: ) but I just don’t get the need for them with guitar amps, which Ive been fiddling around inside for over 4 decades.
I really don’t see the benefit  :w2:
So it makes me reluctant to give credence to anything they say that I don’t already know to be correct. Sorry for me, it’s pointless watching any further.

If you watch much of Paul's videos you will realize guitar amps are just a very small part of what he does.  If you plan to work on old radios and such with hot chassis you might reconsider your stance.

I think the information presented is generally quite good.

My issue is the length of his videos, which are far too long for my attention span.

Yes but he is much smarter than me so I listen.  I'm the low man on the forum totem pole :)
