Hello, I work for an electric utility in the Seattle area. I've dabbled in guitar and in solid-state electronics for a couple of decades and I am thinking of doing a tube amp project. I have a 60-watt tube 6L6 Carvin combo that might provide me with transformers and a cabinet, chassis and speaker. So I am wondering if I can find a tube amp design that can allow me to use the transformers that I have and that has good documentation such that I could build it as a first project. Ideally I'd like to build something two-channel with a clean and high-gain channel but I am wondering if high gain circuitry is tricky for a first-timer because if everything isn't just right there will be oscillation.
