Title: AB763 Reverb Transformer Placement
Post by: joesatch on October 28, 2021, 03:33:17 pm
I'll upload some pics later I'm doing a conversion and i cannot put the reverb transformer between the 6 preamp tubes like stock. I have a tube there so i have to put the reverb transformer somewhere else. Where is the best spot. These are my options.

In the chassis near the original location but inside the chassis.
On the end of the chassis (farthest side away from the Power section)
A spot up near the input jacks
Next to the choke? (pretty close)

Keep it away from the preamp circuit and input jacks!

I have two amps with the RT mounted inside the chassis. The Hammond (http://sluckeyamps.com/hammond_2/big_guts.jpg) has the RT close to the reverb driver tube. The Sunn (http://sluckeyamps.com/sunn/sceptre1.jpg) has the RT mounted between the output transformer and one of the output tubes.

Well with everything in there i have clearance for it. The transformer top might touch the cab shielding, it's dead nuts with the top frame. I have bolted it in next to the driver. The pic looks like the board's jammed up against the pots but there is a good inch and a half space there
