Hi aficionados,
I hope this is an appropriate subject for the forum, even if it deliberately ventures off the beaten track of the handfull well-established amp circuits with those few well-known power tube types we all basically clone over and over or at least base on heavily in our designs...
I came accross this russian youtube video (I use the auto-translate function, I don't understand russian either ;-)
https://youtu.be/-v6BSlX0OAI (https://youtu.be/-v6BSlX0OAI).
It's this guy testing a humungous 6S33S dual power triode in a breadboarded SE setup at 300+ mA anode current. Apart from the hilarious free-wired circuit setup, he uses a rheostat on the OT secondary side to reflect back a variable plate load impedance to the power triode. He then uses a spectrum analyzer to find the optimum OT impedance for the HT.
Anyone else here venturing into strange territory? I for example have a number of 6S19 power triodes that I'd hope to build something with in the next "season"...

most of my tube lern'n time was on a bench that looked a lot like that one. My scope has a spectrum mode (FFT) that I used a lot. really helps tracking down odd harmonic distortions. Experimentation is a great way to dial in the mathematical expectations

The sound of rock and roll is PENTODES.
Triodes are too "polite" to rock. Or even jazz cello.
Try it and see.
