Title: Vox amp ID
Post by: dwinstonwood on December 09, 2021, 08:21:01 pm
I came across this photo of John and I'm wondering which 60's Vox amp used what looks like four Mullard KT88's?
Or, maybe it's a 100w head with the original EL34's having been replaced?
Thanks

Looks like a prototype 7120 just for the Beatles. Good description in the first link...

Thanks mresistor!

And, I agree sluckey:

"The KT88 output tubes on the Beatles 7120 amps were installed at a slight angle..."
That's visible in the photo I posted.

This is cool, too:

"These prototype 7120 heads and speaker cabinets made their first public appearance with the Beatles in a promotional video for "Rain" shot on May 19, 1966."
