Hey! I would love to wind a gold foil pick up or two... Do you know where I could get the parts? looking for covers and baseplates, etc., don't need vintage, but want to stay with the look and functionality. Thanks!

I know next to nothing about winding pups, but I have seen parts on this website:
https://www.philadelphialuthiertools.com/pickup-making-parts/
They are very good -- I buy guitar parts from frequently.

Thanks, Acheld! I actually placed an order there the other day…. :)
Unfortunately, they don’t carry the part I’m looking for. Appreciate it though!

I did some parts searching and those are nowhere to be found. The baseplate would not be real hard to fabricate if you have some basic meal skills or know someone who does. The correct rubber magnet and covers are a different story though. Maybe you can track down some dead ones and do a rewind. I own two '60's Decca guitars with gold foils that I found at antique shops. Looking at what real vintage gold foils sell for now I could flip the pickups and quadruple my money. The pickups sound cool in a garage rock way but not that unique IMHO. Get some P-90's, I'd think a low wind version, and you're damn close. The look is unigue in an art deco way for sure though.

It's magnets in the gold foil's.
