Hi again. I took the plunge and got a turret board, caps etc..all the parts that were available for a 5E3 chassis from the Hoffman amp parts store. My questions are regarding wire size and type. I checked in my parts last night, and noticed there is 20 gauge solid core wire- PVC jacket, 18 gauge stranded core PVC jacket which goes where? Same question regarding the 20 and 24 gauge bus wire. Just want to make sure the correct items go in the right places...better to ask now, before I make a mess of it. This is my first " Obtain my own parts" adventure. Previously on the couple other amp builds I did, I went the kit route, and was provided the old style cloth covered wire. But I wanted to put together a board from the site, and put it together so I can do some side by side comparison. Thanks for any help. You guys bailed me out a couple times on my last build, and I am pleased how it is sounding so far. Keep soldering.😃

For turret board ; solid core wire are the best

I like to use 22 gauge solid core wire for everything except 20 gauge for heaters but even 22 gauge is adequate for heater wiring. Solid core wire allows for better lead dress because the wire will stay where you put it but some feel it can cause microphonics. I haven't had that problem.

Sounds like you did not look at all the install documents?
