Title: RIP Dumble
Post by: G._Hoffman on January 17, 2022, 10:00:16 pm
Very clean, articulate amps, and a personality which made people want to kill him, but he made it to 76.

RIP.

Damn. So sorry to hear of that news. What a legend. RIP Howard A. Dumble. May you fly with angels in Heaven with the big band up there. Prayers for his family.

I know Doug is a Ventures Fan. Me also and maybe a few of us more senior players:>) This info may be well known by many but I will share it anyway. In the early 60's the Ventures endorsed Mosrite Guitars built by Semie Mosley but they didn't have a Mosrite Amplifier. So Semie struck up a deal with Howard Dumble to build some prototypes for a possible amp deal. I think Howard built 11. The amps were good but the deal fell through. Here is some pictures of one of the eleven surviving amps and also attached is a link with more details about the Dumble/Mosrites amps, if you want to read up.

I only just saw this, sad news, the little clip of him playing online, you can see he had some mean rockin' guitar chops, I'd like to hear more

A few years ago, I found some footage of him at his home either being interviewed, I cannot remember who was there, seemed like a 90's video if I remember,  and now I cannot find it,

Does anyone know the video clip I am thinking of? Maybe it was within another film/documentary, I'd love to find it again
