Title: 6G9-B Mystery (to me) cap
Post by: Esquirefreak on February 11, 2022, 01:00:55 pm
Ey!

What does the circled cap do? I get that it's some sort of bypass cap, and since it's only in the normal ch. I guess it's attenuating treble. But then again, I have no idea, hence the question.

Can someone explain how it works?

Kind regards,
Max Eriksson

That cap functions the same as a cap connected between plate and chassis ground, ie, it shunts high frequencies to ground. Yes, it actually shunts high frequencies to B+, but B+ is considered ground for AC signals due to the filter caps.
