I'm new here. Long time tinkerer. Wanted to share a couple videos of my newest build. Got into amp building probably two years ago. I'm currently working on my 5th and planning on a 6th build. I've had a lot of success so far, but I've just built a bunch of Princeton clones. However, I love the sound of them and people keep wanting them, so I keep making them. I've stumbled onto a really incredible sound by making just a few small changes. The last one I built sounds insanely different from the others and I'm trying to recreate the magic again. Anyway, I used an oversized PT. Over 200ma on the high voltage windings. 6l6gc tubes paired with a 4k primary Bandmaster OT. I also added raw control.
My intention was to make a higher power PR with extra clean head room. I accidentally made a snarly beast with incredible low end impact. It feels so different from the others I made that I almost feel like I must have made a mistake somewhere on a resistor value. If the clone of the clone doesn't sound the same, I'll have to go hunting, lol! Sorry for the long intro and the phone recordings. Hopefully you can get a gist of the tone anyway. My buddy Joe is on guitar.

Sounds like you're on to something there.
Keep up the good work.
I enjoyed the tone and the playing.
