Title: Unusual tube query
Post by: isaac_teller on March 19, 2022, 03:37:47 am
The 6C10 compactron has 3 triodes each with a 100 amplification factor. Is there a 3 triode compactron with a 20 amplification factor for each triode?

Reading between the lines of your request, you want a compactron that is 3 sections of a 12AU7.

Google "compactron" and the first result is a page with a list of various compactron types (http://www.junkbox.com/electronics/CompactronTubesIndex.shtml).

12AU7 is often described as a "medium-mu tube"

Skim the list for types that mention 3 medium-mu triodes.

Check out Frank's (https://frank.pocnet.net) to get a data sheet of each type you're considering.

Comparing candidate tubes to a 12AU7 data sheet, it appears the 6AV11 has 3 triodes identical to 12AU7 (https://frank.pocnet.net/sheets/123/6/6AV11.pdf).
